Meet The Team

We are a charity, registered in Scotland, SC052407, with the mission of re-opening and ensuring the long term sustainability of the outdoor tidal pool in Portsoy. This is our team:

Andrew MacRae

Chairman

Although relatively new to Portsoy Andrew has always lived locally. He spent the majority of his working life in retail management turning around failing supermarket departments.

Through years of foster caring he has undertaken many child development courses and would like nothing more than to see the pool open for the future generations to enjoy.

A very keen water skier until an injury forced him to stop recently.

Ellie Andrew

Treasurer

Mum of two and married to Garry Andrew. Works as an ED Nurse so well versed in working in a high stress environment and making difficult decisions.

Has lived in Portsoy since 2011 but grew up in Cornhill just up the road.

Spent the majority of her summers in Portsoy at her grandparents or at the beach / harbour / pool with her sister and mum.

Colin Clark

Operations Manager

Now retired and living in Portsoy after spending all his life in the building industry from a Joiner, to having his own business before joining John Lewis Department stores as Maintenance Manager then Aberdeen University.

He has played various sports over the years to a high level and played in the Highland League for Deveronvale, Huntly, Peterhead, and Cove Rangers.

He also plays the drums in FITLIKEN a covers rock band.

Garry Andrew

Vice Charmain

Runs his own Joinery company in between working offshore, so a project like this is well within his knowledge base and a happy challenge for him to be involved with.

Garry has spent his whole life in Portsoy and so has a close connection with the pool and the sea.

Garry spends his spare time out fishing on a small boat he shares or maintaining his marine fish tank.

Susan Clark

Susan retired from her job with the NHS after 25 yrs and latterly being part of the Play Service team at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital for 15 years.

Getting involved with the re-generation of the pool was something that Susan and her husband Colin wanted to help with as a great asset to the area.
